MINKA

MINKA

MINKA - Japanese for ‘house
of the people’.

MINKA is one of our most reasoned and deliberate designs. Our smallest and most efficient design was created with the people in mind. It was catalyzed as a result of rapidly increasing costs and construction hardships. That being said, beauty should not be sacrificed for necessity. Paying homage to the Japanese tradition of origami we took the traditional geometric composition of the western home, unfolded it and re-configured it to add a sense of art and expression. This allowed a style that is tessellated, sharp, and intriguing while also being tasteful and cohesive when viewing the object in its entirety. We believe everyone deserves a place to call home that is both impressively functional and enticingly modern. Minka is our response to that shared value.

The style mixes sizing, rules, detailing and creative languages often borrowed in historical Japanese construction. Minka comes in a variety of options including one or two stories, up to 3 bedrooms and ranging from 515 sf to 1,165 sf. An artistic style of folded planes mixed with an efficient and attractive use of space makes for anything from a welcoming neighborhood home or an exciting rural retreat. With multiple floor plans and plenty of customizable options - make Minka your next build.

The shell of the structure is created from Cross Laminated Timber for the floor, walls, and ceiling (both exterior and interior) and Glue Laminated beams and columns.
