In order for us to make a big impact, we want to keep our footprint small, and tread lightly. That means we are conscious of not only the materials we use or how we build, but also the way we interact with the environments we build on.
Utilizing the benefits of mass timber, we are able to pre-engineer the shell of the structure off-site. Which means faster build times, less waste, and less labor.
Our designs are modern, yet completely livable. Whether you want a rural getaway, or an urban escape, a Holden Co. structure can give you exactly what you need.
Born out of curiosity and exploration; the human experience and connection to the natural world is of the upmost importance. Step into one of our spaces and immediately feel a connection with the natural world around you.
We are heavily invested in emerging technology, predominantly mass timber. Mass timber is comprised of multiple solid wood panels nailed or glued together, which provide exceptional strength and stability. It’s a strong, low-carbon alternative to concrete and steel.
We are building with two types of mass timber, Cross Laminated Timber or CLT, and Glue Laminated Timber or Glulam. CLT panels consist of layered lumber boards stacked perpendicularly and then glued and pressed into place. In our designs we are using CLT for walls, floors, and roofs, paired with Glue Laminated Beams to create a rib and shell structure.
This combination of mass timber leads to a more efficient build process, less labor, and less waste. The CLT panels are specifically designed and cut by a CNC machine to our exact standards to create the shell of the structure. The shell of the structure then can be flat packed, shipped, and constructed on-site in a matter of days.
When we say 'Designed for the Planet. Built for You.' we mean it. All of our structures are designed with sustainability at the core. That's why we chose to construct them with CLT panels and Glulam beams. All sourced from sustainably managed forests. Building with wood creates a biophilic environment. You can see, hear, and feel a difference when a structure is created with mass timber.
We strive to create places where people can experience life, getaway, think, and call home.
We believe that more can be done, and that the direction of our future lies within nature itself. Using nature as our guide, we will continue to source and build responsibly - and to always give back to the planet that has given us so much.
